Every single one of us has learned this reality when starting a business or side hustle.
At some point you will have to make difficult financial decisions.
And we don’t always have the budget to pay for EXACTLY what we want.
But the great thing about content marketing is that it can work great for entrepreneurs on a budget. In fact, it can be a great place to save your money!
Here are five tips anyone can use to start creating engaging content without breaking the bank…
#1 - User-Generated Content
Most people don’t realize this, but there are plenty of people out there willing to create content for free!
That’s exactly what user-generated content is.
User-generated content is unpaid content that your fans create. Some examples of this would be:
- Pictures
- Videos
- Testimonials
- Tweets
- Blog posts
When people like your brand, they’re happy to participate and interact with you.
You can use those interactions as content.
#2 - Use Personal Experience
One of the quickest and easiest ways to create content is to produce content based on your personal experience.
You have a ton of unique knowledge that you can use to help people.
For example, if you were an accountant for 10 years, there’s a ton of content that you could create in the finance world based on your personal experience.
No matter what your background, there is SOMETHING you can use as fodder for your content.
#3 - Find Guest Writers
A great way to get content for your site is to find people who want to publish an article on your website.
Depending on the popularity of your website, some people will write content for you for free in exchange for a backlink to their website.
The more links back to your website that you have, the stronger your website becomes in the eyes of Google.
So, some people will want to write for you just to get that link.
#4 - Use Trending Topics
A quick, easy way to write valuable content is to write about topics in your niche that are currently trending.
It’s one of the best ways to generate clicks, since the topic is immediately relevant.
To find topics that are trending, you can scour your social media feed, browse the search engines, or use a tool like BuzzSumo to find out what kinds of articles are trending at the moment.
Look for popular hashtags on any social media outlet too!
#5 - Outsourcing
If you do have a little bit of a budget to work with (it doesn’t have to be huge), you can hire a freelancer to create content for you.
There are a lot of great freelancers out there for every industry and every budget, so it can be an efficient way to get content created.
If you’re looking for a freelancer, some great resources are:
- Upwork
- Freelancer.com
- Guru
- Constant-Content
- iWriter
- Fiverr
No matter what your budget is, you can find someone that works well for your needs on one of these websites.
It’s Time To Treat Yourself.
